$25 Million for Bike Lane Test

Updated: Apr 3, 2018

Officials who run the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge are spending $25 million to conduct a four-year test of a bike lane on the span. After San Francisco Chronicle columnists Phillip Matier and Andrew Ross wrote about the spending, they were contacted by a reader from Millbrae who noted that assuming the bridge averages 100 riders per day over the four years, the spending works out to $171 per ride.
